Parentis offers essential services to tourists, and much to see and do with your friends or family. Packed with activities or peaceful relaxation, discovering new places in nature or focused on fun with the family; everyone will find the holidays that suit them.
Parentis-en-Born is a small town of 6,158 people. Located in the heart of the Landes forest, the largest forested area in Europe, it is only 17 kilometers away from the Atlantic Ocean (the famous seaside resort of Biscarrosse-Plage is the closest).
Parentis spreads around the eponymous lake. With a surface of 3,345 ha, it is ideal for navigation and nautical activities.
It’s the perfect place if you’re looking for rest, friendliness, relaxation or activities surrounded by nature. Fall in love with the charming and festive town of the Pays de Born!
Whether you are a novice or an expert fisherman, enjoy a lovely time on the water at Camping Calède. Parentis Lake is indeed famous for its carnivorous species (zanders, perches and pikes) but also for its many carp-fishing routes, including one located 1 kilometer away from the beach at Camping Calède. On top of the varied nature-related activities it offers, Parentis-en-Born Lake in the Landes is suitable for rest, relaxation, walking, roller-blading, or riding your bike thanks to the abundant bicycle lanes.
Those who loves geocaching and unusual treasure hunts will discover a unique 3-kilometer walk themed around the “Black gold of the Pays de Born” thanks to a Terra Aventura course organized by the town. Put on tight shoes, grab your smartphone and go find the caches hidden around the town of Parentis in Nouvelle-Aquitaine.
The town became really famous thanks to its “Sen Bertomiu” local feria taking place each year early August. Parentis-en-Born is the only town in northern Landes to have an arena.
Early August each year, five days of celebration take place with concerts, parade floats with flowers, bandas, bullfights, recortes, course landaise and an event dedicated for children.
One of the unique features of Parentis-en-Born is that it’s been the French capital for oil production since 1954.
Located on the shores of Parentis Lake in the Landes, Camping Calède was actually built around a farm by Irène Léglize, the grandmother of Agnès Laluque (current manager), to welcome oil company workers all year round.
If you wish to know more about Parentis’ oil activity in Nouvelle-Aquitaine, immerse yourself in the “Black gold of the Pays de Born” course and its 3 kilometers of geocaching organized by the town. Download the app Terra aventura and discover a unique experience among all treasure hunts surrounding Camping Calède.
No doubt your stay in the Landes in Parentis-en-Born will be memorable!
